Trees are part of Reston’s unique identity — unlike many suburbs, this area has preserved several of its mature trees. When you live in a city nestled within a forest, every season is beautiful. Autumn, however, is almost magical here in Reston.
As we rake the last of this year’s foliage, let’s look back on the brilliant fall colors. Here are several photographs that I took around town over the last few weeks. You might recognize some of these pictures from Modern Reston’s Instagram account [@modernreston]. Be sure to follow us for lots more photos throughout the year.
First, let’s take a look at each of Reston’s five lakes, my favorite places to photograph this time of year.
